Peraves Monotracer

The Peraves Monotracer is a fully enclosed motorbike featuring a sporty, aerodynamic appearance and low fuel consumption. The Peraves Monotracer is a new, updated and more attractive version of the Swiss-made Ecomobile.

The Peraves Monotracer consists of a Self-supporting composite-monocoque made from glass, kevlar and carbon tissues bonded by epoxy-resin reinforced with crash and roll bars. The Engine frame, steering head and stabilizer axles are made from aircraft grade alloy steel. The suspension is handled by Marzocchi 50mm USD-forks up front and at the rear a Monolever shaft swingarm. Entry is via a Gull-wing-door with integrated sunroof, opening to the left.

The real beauty of the Monotracer is its ability to combine the benefits of both motorcycles and sports cars. The Monotracer can lean like a bike, but at low speeds or when undergoing steep angle turns, small wheels normally recessed in the body lower themselves to provide stability.

Inside the Peraves Monotracer there is room for two people seated in tandem. The seats are RECARO-contour-seats with 3-point-automatic-safety belts, and the driver and passenger can enjoy the benefits of a GPS and audio system.

Power for the Peraves Monotracer comes from a BMW K1200 sourced engine developing 130 horsepower, this is connected to a 4 speed transmission with reverse.

Transmission :  6-speed, chain
Max speed :     -

The Dokujya is another unique creation of French motorcycle builder Lazareth.

The Lazareth Dokujya was inspired by the Honda NAS concept from 1999. And fittingly the Dokujya is equipped with a Honda power plant, a 996cc V-twin from the Honda VTR1000. However Lazareth, by using some engineering insanity, have bolted on a supercharger from the MINI Cooper which brings the power output to 140 hp.

Other innovative features of the Lazareth Dokujya include the oversized single front fork, and specially fabricated aluminium subframe.

The Lazareth Dokujya borrows other elements from manufacturers other than Honda. The rear swingarm is a modified MV Agusta F4 unit and the tail section is derived from the Yamaha R1 unit.

Honda to Launch the New CRF250L On/Off-Road Model

TOKYO, Japan, April 13, 2012 - Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the start of sales in Japan on May 14, 2012, of a new 250-cc on/off-road model, the CRF250L, which offers an agile ride in a wide range of riding environments from urban to off road riding.
Under the slogan, “‘New On & Off Gear, your right buddy on the road’ to make ‘On’ (daily life) more convenient and ‘Off’ (weekends) more enjoyable,” the development team, by pursuing total balance and driving stability to the utmost, created a vehicle that enables a broad spectrum of users from beginners to experienced riders to enjoy the sheer fun of handling the machine.

The CRF250L is powered by a liquid-cooled 250-cc 4-stroke DOHC single-cylinder engine with powerful output in the low-to-mid rpm range. Low-friction technologies including an offset cylinder are also employed to realize the excellent fuel efficiency of 44.3 km/L (measured at a constant speed of 60 km/h on a level road).

A newly-designed frame makes use of the steel twin-tube structure to offer the rider a nimble ride while ensuring both agility and stability. In addition, an agile, high-performance run-through ability in a wide range of situations from urban riding to off road is realized through the adoption of an inverted suspension with a 250-mm cushion stroke for the front and the Pro-Link suspension with 240 mm of axle travel for the rear.

Styling has been refined to be sharper and more aggressive while inheriting the basic concept of Honda’s CRF motocrosser series, resulting in a design that asserts a Honda identity fitting for a new-era CRF. Customers are offered a choice of two color schemes: Extreme Red to present an aggressive image or Ross White for those who wish to impart a cool image.

Tuesday February 28, 2012
BOON Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd unveiled two new Honda performance bikes — the Honda CBR1000RR and the Honda 2012 Gold Wing that promise improved performance, better comfort and advanced safety.

The two long-awaited motorcycles were the ‘superstars’ at the Boon Siew Honda showcase at MotoXpo KL 2012 held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) from Feb 22 to 26.

Boon Siew managing director and chief executive officer Satoshi Okada said, “We are pleased to launch the Honda CBR1000RR and Honda 2012 Gold Wing, thus providing more choices to riders in Malaysia.”

He also announced the estimated price for the new models and their availability at all Boon Siew Honda authorised Impian Honda Shops.

Boon Siew Honda also announced the upcoming launch of a third performance bike, the Honda CRF250L for motocross enthusiasts. The three new models come with two years’ or 20,000km warranty.

Honda CBR1000RR is a star on its own class. It runs on a 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four-cylinder engine and all-aluminium twin-spar chassis.

It has front and rear suspensions, enhancing stylish exterior, multi-function LCD instrumentation communicates information from gear position to coolant temperature and speed.

The machine also comes with controlled combined anti-lock braking system.

The Icon Sheene

The Icon Sheene is a limited edition superbike which was developed to commemorate the successful and popular British motorcycle racer Barry Sheene.

Sheene died in 2003 after a battle with cancer, and this bike - which was sanctioned by, and is signed by his wife - is the way in which Icon, and the man behind the company, Andrew Morris choose to pay their respects.

The Icon Sheene features an insanely powerful 1.4 litre, turbocharged, inline 4-cylinder engine which was borrowed from Suzuki and then worked over intensely. Output for this unit stands at 250 hp, and it develops 133 lb-ft of torque at the rear wheel. Top speed is a blistering 200 mph.

Other highlights of the Icon Sheene superbike include a custom made tubular aluminium frame, and a unique swingarm which features an integrated hugger. Race specification forks and an adjustable rear shock complete the chassis package. The fuel tank is formed from hand-beaten aluminium and each unit takes around a month to fabricate! The bodywork is made up of hand-laid carbon fiber panels which have hidden fasteners so as not to interrupt the lines of the bike.

As far as tribute vehicles go the Icon Sheene is fairly genuine. Many of his friends, family and the people who worked with Sheene during his racing career have contributed to the project and helped design and engineer the bike.

In explaining the bike, Icon's founder said of the project; "...because Barry was so extraordinary, I knew my bike had to be, too. So it's handmade. In Britain. It features extreme levels of power and performance. And it's massively entertaining to ride hard. And in creating it I've felt proud and humble to work alongside many of the talented individuals and companies who helped Barry to win two World Championships."

Only 52 examples of the bike are set to be built (Sheene died at that age). Each bike is priced at an eye-watering £107,000 ($155,000).

Top 10 Fastest Bikes of 2010

Hopefully we’ll be impressing the boys with this post. Here is an exhaustive list of top 10 fastest superbikes. We have tried our level best to gather information from various sources, and inter-tallied them. This seems to be a viable answer. Top speed would be considered here under testing driving conditions. If you’re about own anyone please do let us know how it feels to ride them. Here goes the list of top 10 fastest bikes in the world.

10. Ducati 1098s

VESPA

Vespa is an Italian brand of scooter manufactured by Piaggio. The name means wasp in Italian.
The Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. S.p.A. of Pontedera, Italy—to a full line of scooters and one of seven companies today owned by Piaggio—now Europe's largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles and the world's fourth largest motorcycle manufacturer by unit sales.
From their inception, Vespa scooters have been known for their painted, pressed steel unibody which combines a complete cowling for the engine (enclosing the engine mechanism and concealing dirt or grease), a flat floorboard (providing foot protection), and a prominent front fairing (providing wind protection) into a structural unit.

MTT Turbine Superbike - Y2K BIKE

The MTT Turbine Superbike (often styled SUPERBIKE, also known as the Y2K Turbine SUPERBIKE, is the world's second wheel-driven motorcycle powered by a turbine engine, created by Ted McIntyre of Marine Turbine Technologies Inc.

Reports of the MTT Turbine SUPERBIKE appeared as early as 1999 in a May issue of Cafe Racer magazine, but the production model was introduced in 2000.Powered by a Rolls-Royce-Allison Model 250 turboshaft engine, producing 238 kW (320 hp), the motorcycle has a recorded top speed of 227 mph (370 km/h), with a price tag of US$175,000.00[1] It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Most powerful production motorcycle" and the "Most expensive production motorcycle." Unlike some earlier jet-powered motorcycles, where a massive jet engine provided thrust to push the motorcycle, the turboshaft engine on this model drives the rear wheel via a two-speed gearbox. Riding the motorcycle is said to be somewhat tricky due to the inherent throttle lag in the engine, acceleration when letting off the throttle, and extreme length. The engines used in the motorcycles are second-hand, having reached the FAA running time limit, after which they have to be rebuilt, regardless of condition.

MTT can buy these engines for a much lower price than new engines and use them on surface vehicles
without requiring FAA approval. To get around the problem of procuring the kerosene usually used in turbine engines, the engine of the bike is also able to use Diesel fuel, or even Jet A fuel.

In addition to the engine, there are other innovations incorporated into this bike, such as radar detector with laser scrambler, rear-mounted camera with LCD display, and an optional passenger seat.Unlike piston engine powered contemporary motorcycles (such as the Hayabusa), the 2001 and later models of the MTT

Turbine SUPERBIKE do not have the 300 km/h speed limiting governors self-imposed by Japanese manufacturers. In 2008, MTT released the "Streetfighter," another jet-bike with a more powerful 420-horsepower (310 kW) engine.
